People always ask me “why do you call your taps “freedom taps?” Here’s why: When you stroll into our taproom, you might think you’re just here for a drink. But surprise! You’ve actually wandered into the Black Hills’ most flexible, free-spirited destination for beverages, food, and fun. And yes, we did that on purpose.

Here, you’re not just a guest-you’re a free-range human. Want to saddle up at the bar? Go for it. Prefer to lounge in a big, comfy chair by the fireplace? It’s all yours. Feel like meandering through our Merch Room or basking in the sun on our patio (which, by the way, seats over 100 and is flanked by a creek)? The choice is yours. Wherever your mood takes you, we’ve got a spot that fits.

Let’s talk about our pride and joy: the 28 Freedom Taps. What’s a Freedom Tap, you ask? Imagine a beverage tap station where you’re the bartender. Pour yourself a craft beer, a cider, a Meade, a wine, or whatever tickles your fancy. No lines. No “Hey, Mary, want another beer?” If Mary wants another beer, Mary can pour it herself-half a glass, a quarter, or a full pint. You only pay for what you pour. It’s a friction-free, freedom-filled experience you just won’t find at your average bar or restaurant.
Check-In Like a VIP
Checking in is as easy as checking into a hotel (but with more beer and fewer tiny soaps). Swing by any of our three check-in spots, and we’ll hook you up with a Freedom Wristband linked to your credit card. Nothing gets charged until you check out-just like a hotel, but with fewer awkward lobby encounters. Tap your wristband at any Freedom Tap, pour your drink, and see exactly what you’re getting (and paying for). Then, take your beverage and sit wherever your heart desires.

Craving a Bison Philly or a pizza that’ll make your tastebuds do a happy dance? Snap a pic of the QR code on your table, order from your phone, and we’ll text you when your food is ready. Pick it up at the neon Prairie Dog sign-no table numbers, no assignments, no “wait, where am I sitting again?” You’re free to roam, play a board game, dip your toes in the creek, or show off your corn hole skills outside.
