Guest Ambassador (Front of the House)

Our Guest Ambassadors are the face of The Prairie Dog, welcoming guests and making sure they have a great experience from start to finish.

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Griddle Lead to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in meal preparation and a strong understanding of food service operations within a restaurant environment. Although we are not a restaurant (we are a taproom selling a ton of food) as a Griddle Lead, you will be responsible for crafting delicious, artisan hot dogs and hoagies and while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene in the kitchen. Your culinary skills and attention to detail will contribute to our commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences. Must be willing to make pizzas as trained.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of products according to established recipes and customer preferences.

  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and ready for use.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.

  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and knives safely and efficiently.

  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.

  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management.

  • Assist in menu development by suggesting new pizza recipes or improvements.

  • Participate in training new kitchen staff on pizza preparation techniques.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or food service environment, preferably with a focus on the Griddle and preparation.

  • Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment operation.

  • Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

  • A passion for the culinary arts and creativity in meal preparation.

  • Previous experience as a dietary aide or within the dietary department is a plus but not required.
